These sample assessments are designed to help familiarise you with the types of questions you may encounter when completing online assessments for Assistant Staff Officer, Grade IV.

Each assessment is designed to measure a different area of ability:

• Verbal Comprehension assesses the ability to understand, interpret and evaluate written information.
• Numerical Comprehension assesses the ability to understand, interpret and evaluate numerical data.
• Error Checking assesses the ability to proof read text, check figures and verify codes.

There are two sets (testlets) of four example questions for each assessment. You will be given feedback on your answers and can repeat these questions as often as you like.

You can navigate between the testlets using the ‘Testlet Choice’ drop down box in the top-right section of this screen.

These sample assessments are not timed. However, the actual assessments are strictly timed so try to answer the questions as quickly and accurately as you can when working through the samples.

Make sure that you have a pen, a sheet of paper and a calculator available.
